The InnovaWood RTDI Division organizes the Creativity Workshop on Societal challenges for the Forest-wood sector. The workshop will take place as part of the three days General Assembly events programme. This event aims to define potential research, development and innovation opportunities created by the grand societal challenges in Europe for the InnovaWood sector.
When: 24 April 2013
Where: Palais des Nations, Geneva (Switserland)
The workshop will start with an introduction to specific topics concerning the social challenges provided by key note speakers. The introduction is followed by a brainstorm session between the partcipants. This brainstorm workshop is organised in a way that the discussions start from the specific challenges and not from the sector’s point of view on the future in order to have the discussion as broad as possible and not be biased by existing assumptions from our sector. By thinking out of the box new challenging opportunities for the future will be defined and the development of strategies to tackle the forecasted challenges will be initiated.
The approach of this creativity workshop with the introduction provided by keynote speakers is especially organised because we are aware that not all researchers in our sector are familiar with the social challenges that we are facing, and that could provide us with interesting research opportunities.
