Save the date for WCTE2016 and PTF BPI2016

In 2016, the Forest Products and Timber Construction Department - Salzburg University of Applied Sciences - will organize, with international partners, two significant scientific events:

- WCTE2016, August 22nd and 25th, Viena, Austria,   organised in collaboration with the Forest Products Society, Section Europe (FPSE, with headquarter in Kuchl), 

-  the 4th edition of the Processing Technologies for the Forest and Biobased Products Industries Conference (PTFBPI), 8th and 9th November, St. Simons Isl., United States of America.

FTP Partnering Event 2015 - Call for Project Ideas - deadline 31 Aug

On 27 October the annual FTP partnering event will take place at Munich airport. This year the event has a new approach as FTP wishes to see a stronger industry participation and as a result even more competitive proposals from the forest-based sector to Horizon 2020. In order to make the Partnering Event more attractive to industry, a dedicated “Innovation Track”, boasting 9 parallel workshops, will be organised in which winning Project  Ideas will have access to an exclusive industry audience.

PhD Position in wood chemistry – University of Göttingen, Germany

CAS Wood-Based Panels, Module 1 «Process Technology» training course

After the successful realisation of the last «CAS Wood-Based Panels» with participants from 12 nations, the Bern University of Applied Sciences will start again with module 1 «Process Technology» in Biel (Switzerland) this autumn. An intensive one-week training course in Wood-based materials – translating scientific knowledge into practice will take place from 7 to 12 September in Biel (Switzerland).  Participants will gain a comprehensive overview of the production processes of particleboard, MDF and OSB as well as of their attributes and applications.
