Every two years the family Umdasch donates the award of € 30 000.- at BOKU University Vienna. 'The prize will be awarded to excellent research achievements in the field of wood and forestry sciences and research with special emphasis on:

 - Innovative approaches and improvements in primary and secondary wood processing and manufacturing including environmental aspects and issues
 - New approaches in sustainable forestry and wood productions including timber harvesting
- Holistic approaches and research along the forestry wood chain from harvesting to wood manufacturing.

The deadline for the submission of entries is 31st May 2014.

Last year InnovaWood carried out a survey on potential COST action topics in the wood science area. The results of this survey are used to define the COST Action topics of highest interest to be further developed.
In order to prioritise the proposed COST Action topics InnovaWood invites you to participate in this follow-up survey activity.

The survey should be send back to InnovaWood (gus.verhaeghe@innovawood.com) by Wednesday 23rd of April 2014.

InnovaWood secretariat informs all InnovaWood members that we are carrying on the revision of the InnovaWood Capability Register database. The revised survey is organised by the Knowledge Transfer Division and aims to map the competences of the InnovaWood members in Europe. Non member’s organisations who wish to be included in this database should contact the InnovaWood Secretariat.
