In response to the European Parliament report on innovating for sustainable growth (" A Bioeconomy for Europe"), The Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) and the European Farmers and European Agri-Cooperatives (Copa-Cogeca) issued a joint statement on the role of forest in the EU bioeconomy.

COST Action FP0904 and FP1006 organizing joint conference on Characterization of modified wood in relation to wood bonding and coating performance, which will be held in Slovenia on 16-18 th of October 2013.  

For implementing the revised FTP Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda towards Horizon 2020 FTP received more than 90 Topic Proposals via its National Support Groups. These proposals have been analysed, sorted and grouped into a more manageable number of clusters/themes that will be further elaborated in three workshops that will be organised together with EFI, InnovaWood and EFPRO respectively.

In continuation of the repeating success in the four previous conference events in Bordeaux and the last one in Biarritz, FCBA is organizing the 6th edition of the International Symposium on Wood Fibre Polymer Composites, which will take place on September 23-24, 2013, in Biarritz, France.

The 2013 conference event will focus on opportunities for innovative wood based composites used in Building and Furniture sectors and other sectors contributing to the Green Growth and Bioeconomy.

The 8th FTP conference, held in Barcelona on 12-­‐13 March, saw the launch of the forest-­‐based sector’s revised Vision for 2030 and renewed Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for 2020 (SRA).
