Brokerage event Munich 1st June 2011

Public News
The Forest-based Sector Technology Platform (FTP), in collaboration with InnovaWood, EFI, and EFPRO organised a brokerage event in Munich on 1th June 2011. The focus of the event was to provide opportunities and information to organisations in the sector that were interested in participating in various EU funded research programmes under FP7.
It was a very successful event with more than 70 participants from the entire European forest-based sector including various InnovaWood members.
The morning session started with the presentation of the developments and progress in the various European funding programmes. A presentation on the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) action was given and Johan Elvnert presented the role of the FTP in FP7 and the ERA-Nets. The morning session ended with a presentation of the list of tentative topics for proposals under the 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7) that will be expected to be launched in July. For each call topic specific information was given on type of projects expected, timing and available budget for funding.
During the first part of the afternoon each participant had the opportunity to present ideas for EU-projects and their competences with short flash presentations. Parallel partnering meetings on specific call topics took place after the participants presentations. The partnering meetings gave the chance to give feedback and to support and supplement each other’s ideas. The event offered a unique opportunity to obtain actual information and hopefully it was a starting point for building consortia and core planning teams in order to submit research proposals within the sector.
We believe that this event is of strong interest to our members and InnovaWood strongly encourages your participation in future events. The InnovaWood Secretariat will continue to be involved in the organisation of this and similar initiatives.
