In collaboration with the FTP the InnovaWood Secretariat is actively involved in the preparation of call topics for the FP7 Work Programme 2013 (last call for proposals in FP7). For this process the FTP has divided the Forestry Wood Chain in to three subgroups: Forestry, Wood technology and Pulp and Paper.

In each subgroup representatives from the industry and research world were brought together for discussing and defining the research topics of interest and that we would like to have included in the FP7 Work Programme 2013. On 18th May 2011 the meeting of the Wood subgroup took place at the CEI-Bois offices in Brussels in order to prepare a first draft of topics from the Wood value chain within the FTP. In the meeting representatives from CEI-Bois, the FTP, FEFPEP, the furniture associations and InnovaWood were present.

The InnovaWood Secretariat forwarded about 25 research topics of interest, these topics had previously been defined by the InnovaWood Management Board. From these topics and the proposed research topics by the wood industry a list of 8 topics has been defined for further developed. The InnovaWood Secretariat is coordinating the further development of these topic descriptions now.

In the end, the topic descriptions of each value chain will be collected by FTP and forwarded to the Commission. In this stage the draft topic descriptions are open for consultation. Anybody who wants to contribute and give his comments or reflections on the draft topics is very welcome to do so. In this way you are able to forward directly your research interests to the European Commision.

The draft topic description document can be downloaded here.

Please submit your comments and suggestions on this document directly to the InnovaWood secretariat.

The topics of the other value chains can be downloaded on the FTP website via this link.
