This is the first announcement of the EU-project SENSOR Conference "Impact Assessment of Land Use Changes" of April 6-9, 2008 in cooperation with e.g. EFORWOOD. The Conference website www.sensor-conference2008.eu is now open. All partners are encouraged to submit an abstract to the session that EFORWOOD is organising in this meeting. The session title is "Sustainability Impact Assessment of forest land-use and forest value chains".
Description Session S15:
Within the forest-based sector, the sustainability concept has evolved from a narrow focus on sustainable wood production to a much broader evaluation of environmental, social, and economic sustainability of both resource use and the associated sectoral value chains. In order to assess impacts of policy changes and other external or internal drivers on the sustainability of the forest-based sector, tools are needed for assessing sustainability impacts of Forest-Wood Chains. The session will present methods and tools for SIA and their application in the forest-based sector. Contributions focusing on the sustainability impact assessment of changes in forest management are particularly welcome.
Deadline for abstracts is the 1st of November 2007.
