The 6th COST Domain Committee (DC) on Forests, their Products and Services (FPS) met in Vienna on the 10th and 11th September 2008 at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management. As part of the agenda of the DC to develop measures to enhance COST - EC cooperation, some current and future strategic EU initiatives and projects in relation with forest-based sector under FP6 and FP7 were presented and discussed, with input from EC DG Research Liaison person for FPS Domain. On behalf of the consortium, Jean-Michel Carnus from INRA presented the EFORWOOD road-show to DC national representatives from 34 members' states. The presentation included the work under progress in relation with scenarios and EU FWC analysis, and the announcement for the scientific conference on 16-17 September 2009 in Stockholm. The presentation was well-received by the audience. The points of discussion included elaboration of scenarios and development of SIA methodologies that could be the basis for the future COST FPS actions (more info on COST open call at www.cost.esf.org).
