  The University of Primorska is coordinating a consortium dedicated to developing the new Renewable Materials and Healthy Environments Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence (InnoRenew CoE) using the Horizon 2020 Teaming grant instrument. The consortium is now developing a business plan that details how it will successfully implement and operate the new centre. In order to develop the most effective Business Plan the consortium has established a living laboratory, the Innovative Renewable Material Uses Living Laboratory (LL InnoRenew).   Wood Worker Abroad project aims to share knowledge, experiences and good practices in those aspects related to the qualifications in terms of obtained units of learning, for the industry of the wood and furniture sector of the participating countries. These comparative analyses will contribute to bring together everything that today is coincidental in the participating countries as well as the distinctions that exist between them, to thereby promote the mobility of workers in the European Union and to the development and implementation of the European qualification system in this sector. The partnership is constituted by 5 partner among them InnovaWood member AIDIMA.

BioComposites Centre is hosting IPPS Master Class 2014.
The Master Class will be held in Bangor on 16th & 17th September 2014. This year the Master Class will concentrate on VOC's and resins. Dr Martin Ohlmeyer of the Thünen Institute of Wood Research in Hamburg will be talking about VOCs, the latest regulatory issues, relevant emissions from wood based panels and future strategies that could be considered. The talk will be combined with some practical demonstration of some of the new techniques being developed to measure VOCs. Read more...
 

Our member AIDIMA is actively participating in the FP7 (ICT-2011.8.1 Technology-Enhanced Learning) EC-funded research project called Technology Enhanced Learning LivingLab for Manufacturing Environments (TELLME). The project reinvents learning technology for human-centred and service-oriented manufacturing workplaces in small and medium enterprises. It will offer IT platforms which will provide support for continuous education and training of blue collar worker belonging to heterogeneous business ecosystems.

The PerformWOOD project is inviting customers and users of standards for wood products to join the project User Group. The User Group is being established to allow the customers and users of standards for wood products to interface with the project team, particularly SMEs. Through the User Group, the partner networks and standards committees PerformWOOD actively seek input from the technology providers such as wood preservative manufacturers, wood modification technologies providers, wood industry bodies and trade associations.

FCBA, the French technology institute for forestry, cellulose, wood construction and furniture, will host the 5th Forest Engineering Conference (FEC) together with the 47th International Symposium on Forestry Mechanisation (FORMEC).
"Forest engineering: propelling the forest value chain" September 23-26, 2014 in Gerardmer, France

Inspired by successful FEC and FORMEC past editions, this major international event will grant forest researchers and practitioners one of the best opportunities to meet, and share for 3 days their experience, knowledge and emerging ideas. Two days of in-doors technical sessions will be completed with a full day of field demonstrations in the local mixed sub-mountainous forests.

From the 7th to the 9th of October 2013, InnovaWood member CNR-IVALSA Trees and Timber Institute (Italy) will host in Florence the 4th International Scientific Conference on Hardwood Processing (ISCHP 2013).

The conference is part of the continuing series of conferences previously held in Canada (2007), France (2009) and USA (2011). The main objective of this conference is to bring together the scientific and research communities working on hardwood, from the source to the customer, to share knowledge and ideas. International experts, scientists, government employees, hardwood industry representatives, suppliers and customers are invited to discuss recent progress and innovative work in this valuable area. ISCHP 2013 will be a great opportunity to get in touch with high-qualified scientists and researchers and get information and details about the recent research conducted in the wood sector.

  The Learning Journey is a service organized by COSMOB during the International Furniture Fair to be held in Milan (Italy) from 9-14 April 2013. This proposal will be articulated with a series of activities: visits to companies in the furniture sector, visits to design studios, visits to museums, industrial workshops and of course the customers will be accompanied by COSMOB experts in the various exhibition stands.
This initiative is ideal for people who want to increase their knowledge related to the field of Design. In a short time you can acquire skills which will enrich your lives and especially will be interesting the practical experience in close contact with the Made in Italy in an international context.

The course will be activated for small groups of people and company visits will be scheduled according to the needs of the group.
