The one-week intensive training course «Woodbased Panels: Surface Treatment» will take place at the Bern University of Applied Sciences from 23 to 27 January 2017.

This course provides a complete description of coating for wood and wood materials. It deals with the substrate and coating characterization, the application processes, and finally the evaluation of coated surface performance.
The most common analysis tools for surface characterisation of materials are described and used. A highlight is also provided about R+D topics in the field of wood coating. The students will then be provided with theoretical and practical knowledge in the surface treatment of wood and wood based materials, which will allow them to be efficient in the choice of coating systems and application processes.
