A very successful ex-student of University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty, Department of Wood Science & Technology, Slovenia, Janez Tratar, is starting with the project of production of wooden bicycles as member of Tratar Bikes team.

Tratar Bikes, a city commuting machines are available in two separate versions. The simplistic Single-speed operates with one gear and offers smooth trip in every environment. The Kick shift version is made for a more dynamic ride, it features two gears and an internal brake built in the rear hub. Both versions have the same wooden frame

Tratar Bikes team will be trying to gather at least 25.000 USD with donations to successfully fund bigger-scale production. The team is trying to get a support also on the Kickstarter platform. The campaign is seen as a great opportunity to reach international market with top-quality handmade wooden bicycles.
